R. Steven Baker

R. Steven Baker established the Nursing Home Law Group, PC with a commitment to representing individuals and families affected by serious injuries or fatalities due to negligence and abuse. His legal practice primarily addresses cases involving nursing home abuse, medical malpractice, and accidents caused by negligent drivers, including those involving commercial trucks.

Born and raised in northwest Alabama, Steven began his career by serving as a combat medic in the United States Army in 1978. Utilizing his military training, he became a registered nurse and pursued further education at the University of North Alabama in Florence, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a focus on Biology and Chemistry. His nursing career spanned various critical care environments, such as Surgical Intensive Care Units and Emergency Departments across the nation. Additionally, he held a managerial role as a Hospital House Supervisor before transitioning to a full-time legal career.

While working as a registered nurse, Steven attended the Birmingham School of Law, graduating in 1995. Since then, he has dedicated himself to advocating for clients seeking justice and financial recovery from injuries and wrongful death due to others' negligence. His dual expertise in medicine and law uniquely positions him to support clients in complex injury and wrongful death cases.

Steven is actively involved in his community and is a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Hoover, Alabama.
