Ross Diamond III

Ross Diamond III is a distinguished attorney in Fairhope, Alabama, specializing in representing injured individuals in Auto, Marine, Railroad, and defective products cases. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in 1967 and completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Alabama Law School in January 1969. Following his graduation, Mr. Diamond joined his father's law firm, focusing on victims of marine, railroad, industrial, and motor vehicle incidents.

With a career spanning over five decades, Mr. Diamond has developed substantial expertise in the Jones Act for seamen and offshore oil workers, FELA for railroad employees, and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act for longshoremen and shipyard workers. His commitment to the field is evident through his leadership roles, including serving as Chair of the Admiralty Law Section of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) in 1985-1986 and 2007-2008. He is also a member of the Railroad Law Section and a founding member of the FELA Litigation Group within the AAJ. From 1992 to 1996, he served as a State Delegate.

Mr. Diamond has been an active member of the Alabama Association for Justice since 1971 and contributed to its Executive Committee from 1983 to 2014. His scholarly contributions include articles on admiralty law published in the Louisiana Law Review, Trial Magazine, the Alabama Trial Lawyers’ Journal, and the Mississippi Trial Lawyers’ Voir Dire magazine.

An accomplished speaker, Mr. Diamond has delivered presentations at over thirty educational seminars on admiralty law, personal injury, and wrongful death. Notably, he authored an Amicus Curiae Brief for the U.S. Supreme Court on behalf of the AAJ in Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A. v. Calhoun, addressing damages recoverable for non-employment deaths in state waters.
