Lanning M. Trueb

Lanning M. Trueb brings nearly three decades of expertise in maritime law, advocating for seamen in plaintiff cases throughout the North Pacific region, including the waters of Alaska, Washington, Oregon, California, and Russia. His legal practice encompasses a wide array of maritime issues such as commercial fishing injuries, oil spill response incidents, and serious injury and death claims involving various vessel types, including tug and barge, SERVS, off-shore supply, tankers, and cargo vessels. Lanning has represented crew and family members in wrongful death and vessel sinking cases involving ships like OCEANIC, LIN J, AMBER DAWN, ALEUTIAN VENTURE, BARGE 141, STAR RUBY, ADVANTAGE, ARCTIC ROSE, SCIROCCO, KUPREANOF, and DORTHY L.

In addition to his legal practice, Lanning has firsthand experience in the commercial fishing industry, having owned and operated his own vessel in the Alaska commercial salmon fishery. He is a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, and the University of Montana School of Law, where he graduated with high honors.

Lanning is admitted to practice law in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. He also serves on the Executive Committee of the Admiralty Section of the Alaska Bar Association.
