About James Cameron King

James Cameron King began his journey in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he graduated from Southside High School in 2002. He then pursued higher education at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, earning a Bachelor of Arts in political science/pre-law with a minor in English. During his college years, he excelled in athletics, participating in Division 1 track and cross country.

Following his undergraduate studies, James committed to the Marine Corps, attending Officers Candidate School in Quantico, Virginia, and commissioning as a Second Lieutenant on August 9, 2008. He furthered his education at the University of Arkansas, School of Law, where he obtained his law degree in May 2011. After passing the Arkansas Bar examination, he was stationed at Marine Corps Base Quantico.

In March 2012, James moved to The Basic School and subsequently attended the Basic Lawyer Course at the Naval Justice School in Newport, Rhode Island. During this time, he was promoted to Captain and acquired essential skills to serve as a Judge Advocate. Completing the course in December 2012, he transitioned to his duty station, where he practiced as a Criminal Defense Legal professional for over 18 months.

James then took command of Security Company, overseeing the Marine Corps Installations-East Regional Brig Facility and the Camp Lejeune Provost Marshal’s Office. He was responsible for the accountability, readiness, morale, and discipline of over 440 Marines. In September 2015, after his honorable discharge from the Marine Corps, James returned to Fort Smith, Arkansas, where he now focuses on Immigration Law.
