About Don Elliott Jr
Don Elliott Jr. is a distinguished attorney based in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was admitted to the Arkansas bar in 1978 and practices before the U.S. District Courts of Arkansas, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He earned his education from Ouachita Baptist University (B.A., cum laude, 1975), where he excelled as a four-year letterman on the Tiger football team, and from the University of Arkansas School of Law at Fayetteville (J.D., 1978).
In 1978, Mr. Elliott served as the Research Editor of the Arkansas Law Review. He also achieved the status of Certified Public Accountant (currently inactive) in Arkansas in 1980 and served in the Arkansas National Guard from 1975 to 1981, reaching the rank of Captain.
As a founding partner of the Elliott and Smith law firm, Mr. Elliott focuses on personal injury cases, including 18-wheeler tractor-trailer collisions, motor vehicle collisions, motorcycle accidents, medical negligence claims, nursing home neglect, and injuries from defective products. In 1994, he served as a Special Justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court.
Mr. Elliott's involvement in the legal community is extensive. He was a member of the Arkansas Model Jury Instructions Committee-Civil from 2000 to 2006 and served as President of the Washington County Bar Association from 1991 to 1992. He also contributed to the Arkansas Bar Association as part of the House of Delegates (1987-1990), Executive Council (1990-1991), and Board of Governors (2014-2017). As President of the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association in 2013-2014, he furthered his commitment to the legal profession.
Recognized for his excellence, Mr. Elliott was named Outstanding Trial Lawyer by the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association in 2010 and a Mid-South Super Lawyer from 2008 to 2017. He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (Arkansas Chapter) and the American Inns of Court (Emeritus; President, 2004-2005). As a Fellow of the Arkansas Bar Foundation, he served on its Board of Directors from 2005 to 2011.
In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Elliott shares his expertise as an Adjunct Law Instructor at the University of Arkansas Law.
