Jason Kelly Smith

Jason K. Smith is a founding shareholder of MK Smith, APC, based in Irvine, California. Admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of both California and Utah, Mr. Smith specializes in civil litigation. His extensive experience covers a wide range of areas including business litigation, construction litigation, patent litigation, contract disputes, employment issues, false advertising, unfair business practices, personal injury, medical malpractice, family law, education law, and special education law.

Mr. Smith earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Utah, graduating Cum Laude in 2008. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the Pepperdine University School of Law in 2011. During his time at Pepperdine, he was a Fellow at the Geoffrey H. Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship and the Law and served as a student representative with the Special Education Advocacy Clinic, assisting special needs children with educational service disputes.

With a robust background in trial and litigation, Mr. Smith has acted as trial counsel in a 30-day federal jury trial and a 20-day state court trial, among others. He has also managed several cases from inception through to trial and handled appeals, including presenting oral arguments before the California Court of Appeal in Santa Ana.
