Richard Wagner

Richard Wagner launched his legal career in 1998 as a criminal DUI prosecutor in Los Angeles. During his tenure as a Deputy City Attorney, he handled thousands of cases, including DUI, drunk driving, domestic violence, assault and battery, and firearms offenses in downtown LA. Since 2002, he has been practicing as a DUI criminal defense attorney in private practice.

In 2006, Richard Wagner delivered a lecture titled “What to Do If You Are Arrested for Drunk Driving” at Whittier Law School. His commitment to DUI defense is further evidenced by his completion of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) and International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course.

Richard Wagner defends clients in Federal Court, including the Central and Southern Districts of the United States District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, as well as in all State courts throughout California. He has successfully represented individuals in criminal and DUI cases across counties such as Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Joaquin, San Bernardino, Riverside, Tulare, Imperial, and San Diego. His practice also extends to defending clients in Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, Idaho, and New Mexico.

He is affiliated with several professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, California DUI Lawyers Association, National College for DUI Defense, State Bar of California, and the California Public Defenders Association.
