Nicholas J. Bontrager

Nicholas J. Bontrager is a highly experienced attorney specializing in consumer protection law, practicing in Los Angeles, California. He obtained his J.D. from the University of La Verne College of Law in 2007, following a B.A. in Law and Society with a Minor in Global Peace and Security from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 2004.

Admitted to the State Bar of California in December 2007, Nicholas is qualified to practice in all District Courts in California, as well as the District Courts of Colorado, Northern Florida, Western Wisconsin, Northern and Southern Illinois, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Before co-founding Martin & Bontrager, APC, Nicholas served as Department Head at a prominent national consumer law firm, managing its extensive nationwide practice. He later led the consumer finance department of another leading firm, gaining significant experience as lead class action counsel. His notable cases include national TCPA class actions against major corporations such as the Los Angeles Clippers, T-Mobile, Comenity Bank, and Credit One Bank.

Throughout his career, Nicholas has been lead or co-counsel in over 5,000 individual and class action consumer claims, achieving successful settlements or trial victories. In 2009, he was recognized as the 2nd "Most Active" FDCPA attorney in the U.S. by Webrecon, LLC, representing over 300 consumers in federal courts. Nicholas is a member in good standing with the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) and frequently speaks at consumer law events.
