Ellen Carlson

Ellen Carlson serves as Senior Associate Counsel at The Bagley Law Office, where her practice is centered on juvenile and family law. Originally from Texas, Ellen pursued her undergraduate studies at Southern Methodist University, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. She later earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she actively participated in the Child Advocacy Practicum, solidifying her dedication to supporting children and families.

Following her graduation from law school, Ellen served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Ann Gail Meinster, the Presiding Juvenile Court Judge in Jefferson County, Colorado. She then spent seven years as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem, advocating for the best interests of children in Dependency and Neglect and Juvenile Delinquency cases. Her commitment extended to working with a local non-profit, where she provided pro bono civil courtroom services to youth transitioning out of foster care.

Ellen also contributes her knowledge as an instructor at the Kempe Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Child Neglect. In this capacity, she designs and delivers training programs for new Department of Human Services caseworkers, helping them navigate the complexities of the legal system.

In her personal time, Ellen enjoys frequenting libraries and bookstores, and she loves exploring Colorado with her husband and two children.
