John R Phillips

John R Phillips offers a unique blend of legal expertise and business acumen to his practice in Arapahoe County, Colorado. He earned his undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Denver School of Law, where he contributed to the Law Review. Since his admission to the bar in 1982, John has explored various legal fields but has chosen to focus on Estate Planning.

As the Director of Sales and Marketing for the National Network of Estate Planning Attorneys, John trained seasoned lawyers nationwide in developing client-centered estate planning practices. His role encompassed teaching both the technical legal aspects and the nuances of client engagement, including interviewing, motivational skills, and essential business techniques for practice growth.

John's extensive business background spans both domestic and international markets, with experience in large corporate settings and small entrepreneurial ventures. He has excelled in the high-tech and consumer product sectors. In addition to his legal practice, John is a Certified Financial Planner and an Adjunct Professor at Metropolitan State College in Denver.

He is actively involved in professional education, having authored and taught Continuing Education courses in Estate Planning for CPAs, CFPs, Attorneys, Investment Executives, and Insurance Professionals. John also instructs the academic estate planning module for CFP candidates and has published articles in national periodicals.

John is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Arapahoe County Bar Association, the Will and Probate Section of the Colorado Bar Association, the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Better Business Bureau. He is deeply engaged in his community, serving on several non-profit boards, participating in political activities, and performing with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
