His distinguished career includes service as an Air Force JAG, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, local prosecutor, and municipal judge for Boulder. He has also contributed to the Colorado Municipal League's Board and served six years on the Board of The Colorado Lawyer, including a term as chairperson. In 2022, he was appointed by Gov. Polis to the Colorado Combative Sports Commission. Additionally, he spent a year teaching law at the University of Arkansas.

As a proven trial lawyer, Mark Cohen achieved a $4.2 million judgment in 2012, including punitive damages, for a client in a breach of contract and interference case. He has conducted over one hundred jury trials, showcasing his extensive courtroom experience.
