In addition to his academic achievements, Ryan served as an Executive of the University of Iowa Graduate and Professional Student Government. During the summer of 2017, he was awarded the Bergstrom Fellowship with the Child Advocacy Law Clinic at the University of Michigan Law School.
Prior to joining Burnham Law, Ryan gained valuable experience as a law clerk for the BrownWinick law office in 2018. He also volunteered as a Law Clerk with the Loved Ones Defense Center in Chicago, Illinois, and led workshops for the Kids First Law Clinic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His student Note, "Martinis, Manhattans, and Maltreatment Investigations; When Safety Plans Are a False Choice and What Procedural Protections Parents Are Due," was published in Volume 104 of the Iowa Law Review.
