J David Hopkins

J. David Hopkins is a dedicated income tax lawyer serving clients in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Denver. He specializes in navigating complex IRS audits, tax appeals, and tax collections, as well as representing clients in Federal courts. His clientele includes small business owners, self-employed individuals, divorced spouses, and non-filers, all facing diverse tax challenges.

He earned his law degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he was the Editor of the Denver Tax Law Journal and a ranking member of the American Inns of Court. He received AmJur awards in Taxation and Trial Advocacy. After graduating in 1989, he furthered his expertise with an advanced law degree in taxation (L.L.M.) in 1991 at the same institution.

Mr. Hopkins is an active member of the Tax Attorney Section of the Colorado Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before the Tax Court, US District Court, and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. He also holds membership in the Denver County Bar Association.
