About Joe Pickard
Joe Pickard began his journey in Colorado after relocating from Texas in 1969. As the eldest of 10 siblings, he excelled at Mullen High School, particularly in Speech and Debate, achieving third place nationally at the National Student Congress in 1975. He returned to Texas to earn a B.B.A in Management, summa cum laude, from the University of the Incarnate Word in 1977. Following two years in the computer sales industry, Joe pursued a legal education at the University of Colorado in Boulder, obtaining his J.D. degree in 1982.
Joe's legal career commenced in 1982, and he has since amassed a wealth of experience. As a former assistant County Attorney for Jefferson County, he primarily represented the Human Services Department. Since April 1, 1986, Joe has been actively engaged in private practice, demonstrating his capability in both State and Federal Courts, with approximately 100 jury trials to his credit.
Joe thrives on solving complex problems and is adept at reaching fair resolutions, whether through out-of-court settlements or trials. In recognition of his dedication, he received the Linda T. Palmieri Award for Outstanding Service On Behalf of Children from The 1st Judicial District Bar Association in 2009.
Outside of his legal work, Joe enjoys traveling and playing golf. He has been married to Jan O'Mary since 1977, and they have one son, Jay, who is also an attorney.
