About Thomas C. Crumplar
Thomas C. Crumplar began his distinguished legal career after graduating with honors from the University of Michigan in 1971. He furthered his education at the University of Virginia, graduating in 1975, where he authored numerous law review articles and spoke at national legal conferences. During his time there, he contributed to developing the university's patent policy for scientific projects.
Following his graduation, Thomas served as a law clerk for Federal Judge John T. Copenhaver in Charleston, West Virginia. He briefly practiced at a corporate law firm in Louisville, Kentucky, before committing his career to support the 'underdog.' In 1978, he moved to Wilmington, Delaware, and co-founded Jacobs & Crumplar in 1981 with Bob Jacobs. He currently serves as the firm's Managing Director.
Thomas is a member of the Delaware and New Jersey bars and actively participates in the American Association for Justice and the National Crime Victim's Bar Association. His notable achievements include securing a $75 million verdict in an asbestos case in 1988, the second-highest injury verdict in U.S. history at that time. In 2010, he won a landmark $30 million award against a church in a sex abuse case, marking one of the top ten verdicts in the United States that year.
Beyond his legal practice, Thomas is an Elder at Emmanuel Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Wilmington and is deeply involved in local community initiatives.
