Barbara C. Leon

Barbara C. Leon has been a licensed attorney in Florida for almost 18 years, having graduated with honors from Stetson College of Law in 2002. During her time at Stetson, she contributed as an editor on the Law Review and gained valuable experience through an internship with the United States Attorney's Office and a clerkship with a Federal Magistrate Judge.

Following her education, Barbara dedicated approximately five years to specializing in consumer bankruptcy. She then expanded her expertise to creditor specialties before returning to her primary focus: bankruptcy law. Over the next five years, she adeptly represented both individual and corporate debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 cases.

Upon joining Ms. Arkovich's firm, Barbara broadened her practice to encompass foreclosure defense, consumer collections litigation, debt defense, and student loans. Her commitment to treating each case with personalized attention sets her apart, viewing legal challenges as strategic games of chess where anticipating opponents' moves is crucial.

Barbara was among the first attorneys in Tampa to file a Motion to Strip a second mortgage in a Chapter 13 case, a now-common practice that has saved many clients significant sums by eliminating junior liens on their homes. She remains at the forefront of innovative legal strategies to ensure successful outcomes for her clients.
