About Leland E. Garvin
Leland E. Garvin, a native of Florida and a second-generation trial attorney, began his legal journey as a Prosecutor. During his tenure at the State Attorney’s Office, he gained substantial trial experience by representing the State of Florida in numerous jury trials, handling both misdemeanor and felony cases.
Throughout law school, Leland worked with personal injury law firms in South Florida, where he managed injury and auto accident cases. His involvement with the Moot Court Honor Society during this time cultivated his passion for courtroom advocacy.
After leaving the prosecutor's office, Leland founded his own firm, focusing on criminal defense and injury cases. Later, he and his father, Jeff, merged their practices to better serve clients in need of legal assistance.
In 2009, Leland was recognized by Florida Trend Magazine as one of the best up-and-coming attorneys in Florida and was listed in Strathmore’s Who’s Who. The following year, he was named one of the Top Young Lawyers in Florida by Florida Super Lawyers magazine, an honor bestowed upon only 2.5 percent of the state's attorneys. In 2012, he was selected as one of the top 40 lawyers under 40 by The National Trial Lawyers Association.
Leland serves on the Board of Directors of the Young Lawyers Section of the Florida Justice Association and is a member of the PULSE Committee for the American Heart Association. His professional memberships include the American Association for Justice, the Florida Justice Association, and the Lee County Bar Association.
His practice is concentrated in personal injury, wrongful death, and maritime litigation. Leland is admitted to practice in the Florida Bar, the Colorado Bar, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
