Carey Wagner Meldon

As a partner at Meldon Law, Carey Wagner Meldon is committed to providing personalized legal services in Gainesville, Florida. Before joining the firm in 2009, Carey gained significant legal experience in Daytona Beach with the State’s Lawyer Office, where he worked for nearly four years. During his tenure as an Assistant State Legal professional, Carey managed thousands of criminal cases, from misdemeanor DUIs to capital felonies. In 2008, he advanced to the Special Prosecution Unit within the 7th Judicial Circuit State’s Counsel’s Office.

Born and raised in Gainesville, Carey attended the College of William and Mary, where he played Varsity Tennis and studied History and Economics. He earned his law degree from Stetson’s College of Law, with a memorable graduation moment when his grandfather, Maurice Wagner, a Stetson Law alum and trailblazer in personal injury law, presented him with his diploma in 2005. Maurice Wagner was honored with the Tobias Simon award by the Florida Supreme Court for his dedication to justice.

In 2017, Carey returned to South Florida, reconnecting with the roots of his family's legal practice. Today, he co-manages Meldon Law with his father, Jeffrey Meldon, across three Florida locations. The firm comprises five lawyers and over 20 staff members, emphasizing individual client relationships and comprehensive legal services.

Carey values building lasting relationships with clients and finds great joy in connecting with friends, both old and new. His legal focus includes trial practice in criminal, corporate, and personal injury claims.
