About Jonathan David Ramsey

Jonathan David Ramsey was born in York, Nebraska, and moved to Miami, Florida at the age of three. He excelled academically, graduating as Valedictorian from his high school. Jonathan attended Florida State University, earning a degree Summa Cum Laude in just three and a half years. During his time at FSU, he gained valuable experience interning at both the university newspaper and radio station.

After gaining some work experience, Jonathan pursued a Master’s in Political Science from the University of Florida. This education was instrumental in his role as a campaign manager in several political campaigns, including a successful win. Jonathan continued his academic journey at the University of Florida's Levin College of Law, where he was awarded the "Book Award" in Trial Legal Practice for his outstanding performance. He also earned certificates in Pro Bono work and criminal justice law.

Following law school, Jonathan began his legal career as an Assistant State Counsel in the Eighth Judicial Circuit. After passing the Florida Bar, he attended a seminar where his trial advocacy skills were recognized with an award. Initially stationed in the Levy County Office, he soon transitioned to the Alachua County Office. His dedication in the traffic division led to a 2014 recognition by Mothers Against Drunk Driving, nominated by local law enforcement.

In Alachua County, Jonathan worked in the General Misdemeanor Division alongside seasoned traffic prosecutor Julie Fine, further honing his skills in criminal justice.
