Thomas L. Edwards

Thomas L. Edwards, a lifelong Floridian, began his journey in Miami Beach and grew up in Hollywood, Florida. He relocated to Gainesville for his education, earning a Bachelor of Science with Honors from the University of Florida in 1983. As the inaugural student in the combined Criminology and Law program, he graduated with a Masters Degree with Honors and a Juris Doctorate in 1986.

Mr. Edwards actively supports his alma mater by sponsoring the Book Award in Criminal Law, awarded annually to the Most Exemplary student at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. He has held significant roles, including as former President of the Federal Bar Association for the Northern District of Florida and the Florida Association of Criminal Defendant Lawyers for the Eighth Judicial Circuit chapter. Additionally, he served on the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of Criminal Corporate Lawyers.

An active member of several professional organizations, Mr. Edwards is affiliated with the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association, and its Criminal Law Section. He also holds Emeritus status at the James C. Adkins Jr. American Inn of Court.

Thomas is married to Chrissy, a Registered Nurse, and they have a son, Austin, who is currently in high school. In his personal time, Mr. Edwards enjoys playing tennis and golf with his son and spending long weekends with his family at the beach.
