Gary R. Jodat

Gary R. Jodat, the founding attorney of Jodat Law Group, P.A., has been a dedicated legal professional since 1994. Based in Hillsborough County, Florida, Gary began his legal career after graduating with a Juris Doctor Degree from Stetson University College of Law in 1993. Prior to that, he obtained his undergraduate degree from Roger Williams University. Initially, Gary served as an Assistant Public Defender, focusing on criminal, juvenile, and dependency cases before transitioning to personal injury litigation.

Gary is a member of several esteemed organizations, including The American Bar Association, The Manatee County Bar Association, The Florida Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and the Florida Justice Association. He is an Eagle Patron, supporting the Endowment for Association Giving to Law & Education, and has also been involved with The Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce, The Manatee County Chamber of Commerce, and the American Inns of Court.

His legal insights have been published, notably in the Pinellas County Review with the article "Illegitimate Children Gain Rights in Wrongful Death," and in the Grant v. Thornton case. Gary is recognized as a Distinguished Expert with a handgun and has received the Life Saver Award from the Rotary Club of Sarasota, as well as recognition from the Sarasota Police Department for saving a life.

Gary is actively involved in community service as a Board Member of Healthy Start of Sarasota. His professional excellence has been acknowledged by The National Trial Lawyers, naming him among the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers.”

Outside of his professional commitments, Gary enjoys life in Sarasota with his wife, their two younger children, and their Yorkshire Terrier, Drake. The family loves spending time swimming, boating, and visiting the beach. His three older children, who attended Manatee County schools, have since moved out.
