Janet Wise

Janet E. Wise has been Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by The Florida Bar since 2001, a testament to her specialized knowledge and ethical standards in this field. With over 29 years of experience at the Sass Law Firm, she focuses on representing employees from both private and public sectors in workplace disputes.

Ms. Wise is a frequent speaker on employment law, particularly in attorney ethics. She actively participates in various committees at both local and national levels. Her commitment to the field is reflected in her consistent recognition as a Florida Super Lawyer® in Employment Law since 2014, and her inclusion in Lawdragon's 500 Leading Plaintiff Employment and Civil Rights Lawyers since 2020.

Janet graduated cum laude from Newberry College and earned her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law. She is admitted to practice in both The Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia. Her leadership roles include serving as the 2020-2021 Chair of The Florida Bar’s Labor & Employment Law Certification Committee, where she helped set standards for Board Certification and develop certification exams.

Ms. Wise has also been a past President of the Florida Chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA) and a past co-chair of NELA’s Ethics and Sanctions Committee. She continues to support labor and employment law practitioners through her work on NELA’s Ethics and Sanctions Advisory Council.
