Michael Austin Joseph

Austin Joseph serves as an associate law counsel at Meriwether & Tharp in Athens, Georgia. Originally from Waycross, Georgia, Austin graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 2018 with a degree in Entertainment and Media Studies. During his time there, he was actively involved as Vice President of Membership for the Student Alumni Council and an Ambassador for the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

Austin achieved the status of "Double Dawg" upon completing his education at the University of Georgia School of Law in 2021. During law school, he excelled as the Executive Notes Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Law, where his Note was published in the 28th volume. He also contributed as a research assistant to Dean Andrea Dennis and received the CALI award for Entertainment Law, recognizing the highest semester grade.

His interest in household law was sparked through his participation in the Jane W. Wilson Loved Ones Justice Clinic, focusing on legal support for domestic harm survivors. Before rejoining Meriwether & Tharp in Athens, Austin practiced business litigation at a notable Athens law office.

Outside of his professional life, Austin enjoys exploring the culinary scene of the Classic City with his family, spending time with Archie, the family's cocker spaniel, and discovering new books.
