James Clifton

James Clifton is the founding member of The Clifton Law Firm, LLC, where he manages a comprehensive multi-state legal practice. His primary areas of focus include real property, bankruptcy, wills, trusts, and estates. James is well-versed in suits to quiet title, real property and commercial lending transactions, as well as comprehensive contract formation and title insurance claims. His skills extend to will drafting, estate planning, and probate litigation.

James is dedicated to giving back to the community, volunteering at the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation's Saturday Lawyer Program to provide pro bono legal services to indigent clients. He also participated in the Georgia Legal Counsel General’s statewide food drive, The Legal Food Frenzy, representing Fayette County. His leadership roles include serving on the Executive Council of the State Bar of Georgia Young Lawyers Division and graduating from the Young Lawyer Leadership Academy. He is a past president of the Fayette County Bar Association.

James is a member of the American Bar Association, particularly its Real Property, Trust, and Estate Section. He is actively involved with the State Bar of Georgia, participating in its Real Property Law Section, Bankruptcy Section, and Creditor's Rights Section. Additionally, he holds memberships in the Florida Bar's Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section, the State Bar of California's Real Property Law Section, the State Bar of Texas's Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law Section, and the District of Columbia Bar's Real Property Law Section.

James is licensed to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, and the United States Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit. On May 14, 2012, he was admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States.
