Patrick McKee

Patrick W. McKee brings over 35 years of legal expertise, focusing on the representation of educators and educational institutions, including his role as general counsel for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. He earned his B.A., magna cum laude in philosophy from Georgia State University in 1973 and his J.D. from Emory University in 1977, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and served as a research editor for the Emory Law Journal.

After graduating from Emory, Mr. McKee served as Assistant Counsel to the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and as Senior Assistant Attorney General of Georgia. In these roles, he represented the University System of Georgia and the State Board of Education. He has held numerous positions in law-related organizations, including Chairman of the School and College Law Section of the State Bar. Mr. McKee is a prolific speaker and writer on educational and governmental law issues nationwide.

At McKee & Mitchell, LLC, he represents clients in commercial and employment litigation. Additionally, he has expanded his practice to encompass estate administration and probate litigation, leveraging his extensive litigation experience from other legal fields.
