About Adam Christopher Cathey
Adam Christopher Cathey began his legal career as an Assistant District Legal Counsel for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit in 2006. In 2009, he established his private law practice in Ringgold, Georgia, where he has since represented clients in a wide range of litigation matters, including criminal cases, divorce, custody actions, and administrative proceedings.
A lifelong Georgian, Adam was born in Atlanta and raised in the northern metro suburbs. He graduated from John McEachern High School in Powder Springs, Georgia, before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. From 1993 to 1997, he served aboard the USS John F. Kennedy. Following his military service, Adam attended the University of Georgia, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2001. It was there he met his wife, Leanna, who was pursuing graduate studies.
Adam pursued his law degree at the Louisiana State University Paul M. Hebert School of Law, obtaining both a Juris Doctorate and a Bachelor of Civil Law. During his time in law school, he interned with the United States Counsel's Office for the Middle District of Louisiana and the East Baton Rouge Parish District Legal Professional's Office. He also clerked at the Baton Rouge firm of Guglielmo, Marks, Schutte, Terhoeve, and Love.
In the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita during his final year of law school, Adam decided to move his family back to Georgia. After passing the Georgia Bar, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit under the Honorable Herbert E. "Buzz" Franklin. Several years later, he made the decision to open his own practice, drawing on his diverse experience and legal training to assist clients with real-world issues.
Adam and his family are actively involved in their community, attending Covenant Presbyterian Church in East Brainerd. Ringgold remains their home, where they have formed deep connections.
