About Cheryl Legare
Cheryl Legare is an accomplished attorney specializing in employment law, with a strong commitment to representing employees in cases involving disability discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, FMLA issues, and various forms of discrimination including gender, pregnancy, race, religion, national origin, and age. She also adeptly handles wage and hour disputes, contract negotiations, and employment separation agreements.
Before founding Legare, Attwood & Ragan, LLC, Cheryl gained extensive experience over seven years at one of the largest plaintiff employment law firms in the southeast. She also worked with two prominent national law firms, where she advised management on employment law matters and defended employers in both federal and state courts.
Cheryl is actively involved in professional associations, including the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia. She founded the GAWL’s Solo/Small Firm Affinity Group and served as a past president of GAWL. Additionally, she is a member of the National Employment Lawyers’ Association and has been a past president of its Georgia chapter.
Licensed to practice in both Georgia and South Carolina, Cheryl holds admissions to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.
Residing in Decatur, Georgia, Cheryl enjoys spending time with her cat Dixie and dogs Luna and Molly. In her free time, she loves socializing with friends, attending live music events, and traveling.
