James Patrick Galvin Jr.

James P. Galvin Jr. is the founder of Galvin Litigation and a distinguished member of both the Florida Bar and the State Bar of Georgia. He attained his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Pursuing further legal education, he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida, where he excelled in the litigation skills program.

At the University of Miami, Mr. Galvin served as a Certified Law Intern with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office and participated actively in the Investor Interests Clinic. His roles included Certified Courtroom Intern, Returning Fellow, and Research Assistant to Clinic Director Teresa Verges. He represented the School of Law at the FINRA Securities Dispute Resolution Triathlon in New York City and received the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement for his contributions to the Investor Entitlements Clinic.

Mr. Galvin further honed his legal expertise as an Honors Student Legal Intern with the Enforcement Division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), engaging in various enforcement investigations. His responsibilities covered comprehensive research, document review, drafting deposition outlines, and assisting in witness depositions.

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Galvin has a robust background in financial planning, having previously held FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 66 Securities Licenses, along with multiple insurance licenses. He completed the Executive Program for Financial Planning Certification with Distinction at The University of Georgia Terry College of Business. His experience with broker-dealers, both as an employee and an independent contractor, provides him with a unique perspective on securities fraud claims and brokerage firm defenses.
