Cheryl Legare

Cheryl Legare is an experienced attorney based in Dekalb County, Georgia, specializing in employment law. Her practice areas include representing employees in matters such as disability discrimination, retaliation, sexual harassment, FMLA interference, and various forms of discrimination including gender, pregnancy, race, religion, national origin, and age. She also handles wage and hour disputes, contract negotiations, and employment separation agreements.

Prior to founding Legare, Attwood & Ragan, LLC, Cheryl spent seven decades at a prominent plaintiff employment law firm in the southeast, advocating for employee rights. She also has extensive experience advising management and defending employers in employment-related lawsuits at two large national law firms, working in both federal and state courts.

Cheryl is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL), the Atlanta Bar Association, and the State Bar of Georgia. She founded GAWL’s Solo/Small Firm Affinity Group and served as a past president. Additionally, she is a member of the National Employment Lawyers’ Association and has served as a past president of its Georgia chapter.

Licensed to practice in Georgia and South Carolina, Cheryl holds admissions to the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fourth and Eleventh Circuits, and the United States Supreme Court.

In her personal time, Cheryl enjoys spending time with friends, attending live music events, and traveling. She resides in Decatur, Georgia, with her pets: a cat named Dixie and dogs Luna and Molly.
