Mr. Lars Peterson

Lars Peterson excels in bankruptcy law, criminal defense, insurance coverage disputes, and personal injury, with a comprehensive practice that includes civil and commercial litigation and business transactions. As a dual U.S. and German legal counsel, Mr. Peterson is admitted to practice in all Hawaiian and Georgian courts, the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawai’i, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, with eligibility to practice in Germany and EU member states.

Born and raised in Germany, Mr. Peterson moved to Hawai’i in 1999. He earned his German juris doctor degree from the University of Konstanz School of Law in 1997 after completing a mandatory two-year clerkship. Upon relocating to Hawai’i, he furthered his legal education at the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa and the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where he received the American Bankruptcy Institute Certificate of Excellence in Bankruptcy and his U.S. juris doctor degree in 2005.

Mr. Peterson began his legal career in Georgia, focusing on bankruptcy law, criminal defense, and civil litigation. Returning to Hawai’i in 2006, he joined the Legislative Reference Bureau at the State Capitol and gained extensive trial experience with the Office of the Public Defender in Honolulu. His career further advanced as an associate attorney at Klevansky Piper Van Etten, LLLP, where he concentrated on insurance coverage litigation and commercial bankruptcies and transactions.
