John E. Cutler

John E. Cutler boasts a distinguished legal career spanning more than three decades. He earned his degree from Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1989. Shortly after, he honed his legal research skills as a federal law clerk for the Chief Bankruptcy Judge in the District of Arizona. This role provided him with invaluable insights into judicial decision-making processes.

In 1991, Mr. Cutler joined the Bonneville County Prosecuting Counsel Office in Idaho Falls, Idaho, as a deputy prosecutor. There, he managed both misdemeanor and felony prosecutions and gained extensive trial experience, particularly in Driving Under the Influence (DUI) cases.

In 1995, Mr. Cutler transitioned into private practice, leveraging his clerkship and prosecution expertise. By 2003, he established the Cutler Law Office, P.A., specializing in criminal corporate litigation with a strong focus on DUI defense. He has successfully conducted numerous jury trials in both State and Federal Courts, and has skillfully handled various motions, including motions to suppress evidence.

Mr. Cutler's professional excellence is acknowledged by his peers, as evidenced by his AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell and a “Superb” 10.0 rating on AVVO.com. He has also been honored with the AVVO Clients' Choice Award in 2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

He is admitted to practice in all Idaho State Courts, the Federal District Court of Idaho, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. His professional affiliations include the Idaho Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and he serves as the Idaho State Delegate for the National College of DUI Defense. Additionally, Mr. Cutler is a founding member of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association and is recognized among the National Trial Lawyers' Top 100 Criminal Trial Lawyers in Idaho.
