David grew up in Idaho, spending much of his youth in Meridian. He and his wife, Kellie, who hails from Twin Falls, were married in the area. He holds a degree in English writing from Boise State University and spent over seven years at AT&T before pursuing law. He earned his law degree from Concordia University School of Law in Boise, where he interned with a boutique Estate Planning firm in Eagle, Idaho, cultivating his expertise in the field.

In April 2018, David and his family, which includes their boy-girl twins, relocated to Twin Falls. They have embraced the community and enjoy the surrounding areas.
