Charles N. Edmiston

Charles N. Edmiston, known as Chuck, has dedicated his career to representing injured workers in their pursuit of fair compensation. He tirelessly works to ensure his clients receive necessary medical care and benefits during their recovery, ultimately aiming for a just settlement or award. Chuck was raised in Abingdon, Illinois, and pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Illinois, graduating with high honors in Journalism in 1976. He then earned his law degree with honors from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1979. He successfully passed the Iowa bar exam in January 1980 and the Illinois bar exam in February 1980.

Beginning his legal career in a general practice firm in Iowa, Chuck gained valuable litigation experience. He later moved to Fairfield, Illinois, serving as an assistant state's attorney for two and a half years and as a Public Defender for Wayne and Richland Counties, while also managing his own general practice.

In 1987, Chuck joined the Kanoski Bresney firm in Rushville, focusing on personal injury and workers' financial recovery. For over 30 years, he has been a steadfast advocate for injured workers, representing them at all judicial levels, including the Illinois Supreme Court. In 2003, Chuck successfully argued the landmark case of Sisbro vs. Industrial Commission, which overturned an appellate decision and protected workers' rights to recover for aggravated pre-existing conditions.
