Lauren Ann Anaya

Lauren Ann Anaya brings over two decades of legal expertise to her practice, offering clients in Champaign, Illinois, comprehensive legal services. Her career commenced with the United States Department of Justice, where she was selected through the Attorney General's Honors Program, a prestigious federal entry-level hiring initiative. Dr. Anaya served in the Executive Office for Immigration Review and later joined the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) within the Office of the General Counsel. Her deep knowledge of immigration law allows her to assist clients with green cards, temporary work visas, U.S. citizenship, and representation in Immigration Court.

As a former federal prosecutor from 1995 to 2005, Dr. Anaya gained extensive experience in the criminal justice system. She adeptly handled numerous cases involving immigration, drug offenses, white-collar crimes, violent crimes, firearms offenses, fraud, and domestic violence during her tenure as an Assistant United States Attorney.

Dr. Anaya holds a BBA in Business and is a graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law. In 2014, she earned a PhD in cultural anthropology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, focusing on legal anthropology. This academic background equips her with a unique perspective, allowing her to approach legal issues with cultural sensitivity. Currently, she shares her knowledge as a part-time faculty member at Parkland College.
