Masah S SamForay

Masah S. SamForay has built a reputation as a distinguished advocate for families, achieving national recognition as a Top 100 Lawyer. Her personal experience as a divorcee and working mother enriches her understanding of the complexities involved in family law.

Attorney SamForay co-founded the Black Bar Association of Will County and served as its Past-President. She is an active member of the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago, Inc., having served on the 2017-2018 Board and as Co-Chair of the Small and Solo Legal Practice Committee from 2013-2016. Her involvement extends to the Illinois State Bar Association, where she contributes to the Family Law Section Counsel and the Racial and Ethnic Minorities in the Law Committee. Additionally, she played a pivotal role as Chair of the Family Law Committee for the Cook County Bar Association in 2016 and 2017.

As the founder of The Foray Hurst Firm, Attorney SamForay is committed to preserving the dignity of families in transition. She holds a Juris Doctorate and a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University-Bloomington and is licensed by the Supreme Court of Illinois. Her community involvement is extensive, focusing on organizations that support women, children, and underserved populations.

In 2017, she was appointed by Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner to the Board of Trustees of Governor’s State University. Her accolades include being named among the "10 Best Female Attorneys" by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys from 2016 to 2018, and being recognized as a "Woman of Empowerment" by The Honorable Dorothy Brown in 2016. The Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism also highlighted her in their "Attorney Spotlight" in 2016. Of Sierra Leonean descent, she has a deep appreciation for international culture and travel.
