Stephanie L. Tang

Stephanie L. Tang serves as an Associate Professor of Law at Baylor Law School, where she teaches courses in Family Law, Advanced Family Law, Children and the Law, and LARC 3: Persuasive Communication. Additionally, she is the Director of the Baylor Law Family Law Clinic. Prior to her academic role, she was a Partner at a family law firm in Chicago, focusing on various aspects of family law.

Stephanie is a certified mediator, a fellow with Collaborative Divorce Illinois, and a Certified Financial Litigator with the American Academy for Certified Financial Litigators. Her extensive background includes litigation, mediation, and collaborative approaches to high-conflict divorce and parentage cases.

During her time in private practice, Stephanie received numerous accolades, including the Illinois State Bar Association’s 2019 Young Lawyer of the Year Award and the 2024 CLE Achievement Award. She has been recognized as a Rising Star in Family Law by Illinois Super Lawyers, an Emerging Lawyer in Family Law by Leading Lawyers, and one of the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch. She also earned the Avvo Clients’ Choice Award for exceptional client reviews.

Stephanie earned her B.A. in Psychology and Legal Studies with Honors from Northwestern University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with pro bono recognition from the University of Illinois College of Law. At law school, she received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Family Law, the HNBA Internal Moot Court Competition, and Regulations of Financial Institutions. She was also honored with the Rickert Award for Excellence in Legal Writing and Service, distinguishing her among the top eight students in her class.
