Henry D. Kass

Henry D. Kass, a partner at MKFM Law, LLC, is recognized for his expertise in domestic relations, guardianship, and criminal law. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa and studied abroad at the University of the Basque Country in Spain. Following his international studies, Henry earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Iowa College of Law.

After law school, Henry served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office under Appellate Court Justice Joseph E. Birkett. In this role, he prosecuted domestic violence and felony cases, earning a Special Commendation for his work. Henry has extensive trial experience, having tried dozens of jury cases and hundreds of bench trials.

Henry has contributed to legal education by teaching family law at the College of DuPage for five years. His written works have been featured in the DuPage County Bar Association Brief, the Illinois State Bar Association Newsletter, and St. Charles Living magazine. He has held leadership positions, including Vice Chair and Chair of both the Child Advocacy Section and Family Law Section.

His dedication to legal service has been recognized with the Pro Bono Service Award from the DuPage Legal Assistance Foundation and the Board of Directors Award from the DuPage County Bar Association. Henry is licensed to practice in Illinois and Iowa, serving clients in Cook, DeKalb, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, and Will counties.

Henry is an active member of the Justinian Society of Lawyers, a Fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation, and has served on the DuPage County Judicial Committee. He was also elected to two terms as an Assembly Member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
