Marie Sarantakis

Marie Sarantakis leads the Sarantakis Law Group, Ltd. in Oak Brook, Illinois, where she focuses her practice on domestic relations. Beyond her courtroom expertise, she excels in alternative dispute resolution as a mediator and Guardian ad Litem. She is also a Fellow of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois.

Her professional achievements have been recognized by numerous organizations. Ms. Sarantakis was honored by the Illinois State Bar Association as Young Lawyer of the Year and received the On the Rise Award from the American Bar Association, identifying her among the Top 40 Lawyers in the United States. Super Lawyers named her a Rising Star, and she was recognized as one of the Top 10 Family Law Attorneys Under 40 in Illinois by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the National Association of Distinguished Counsel. Her contributions extend beyond the legal field, as she was inducted into the Wilmot Union High School Hall of Fame and recognized by the Greek America Foundation's Forty Under Forty.

Ms. Sarantakis is highly active in the legal community, holding leadership roles in several committees of the American Bar Association. She serves as an elected Assembly member and Young Lawyers Division Member of the Illinois State Bar Association and is on the Board of Governors of the West Suburban Bar Association. Her commitment to legal support services is further demonstrated through her roles as a Young Professionals Board Member of Illinois Legal Aid Online and an Associate Board Member of the Lawyers Assistance Program of Illinois.

Ms. Sarantakis earned her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School, where she distinguished herself academically by serving on The John Marshall Law Review and receiving three CALI Awards for achieving the highest grades in constitutional law, evidence, and white-collar crime. During her studies, she gained valuable experience clerking as a judicial extern for the Honorable Thomas L. Kilbride of the Illinois Supreme Court. Her early career included externships with the Kenosha County State’s Attorneys Office and Kenosha County Public Defenders Office while she completed her Bachelor of Arts at Carthage College.
