Timothy Martin

Timothy P. Martin, based in DuPage County, Illinois, is the Managing Partner and Chief Litigator at the Law Offices of Martin & Kent, LLC. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, where he contributed to the John Marshall Law Review, resulting in a nationally published article on criminal law.

In 2009, Mr. Martin was elected President of the DuPage County Criminal Defense Bar Association, a position he held again in 2010 and 2015. With 22 years of legal experience, he began his career as a Prosecutor under Jim Ryan, former DuPage State's Attorney. During his tenure, he prosecuted over 2,500 misdemeanor cases and more than 900 felony cases, including aggravated battery and murder. He also served on the Felony Review/Screening team and trained new State's Attorneys.

As a private attorney, Mr. Martin has defended over 10,000 clients in criminal cases ranging from DUI to murder. He is recognized statewide for his trial advocacy skills and has never lost a murder case, either as a Prosecutor or Defense attorney. His practice is concentrated in criminal defense and divorce, and he is known for his effective and trustworthy representation.
