Scott G. Richmond

Scott G. Richmond is a distinguished attorney based in Elgin, Illinois, with extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation, banking, collections, employment law, and Landlord-Tenant law, including evictions. His practice also encompasses personal injury, wrongful death, real estate short sales, homeowner and condominium association representation, and zoning/land use matters.

Licensed to practice in the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and before the U.S. Supreme Court, Mr. Richmond was recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Illinois from 2015 to 2017. He is actively involved in the Illinois State Bar Association, the Kane County Bar Association—where he has served as General Counsel and on the Board of Managers—and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Richmond has contributed significantly to his community, serving as a Village Trustee for South Elgin from 2005 to 2013 and from 2014 to the present. In this role, he has been the Board liaison to multiple committees and departments, including Intergovernmental Affairs, Police, Public Works, and Finance, and has acted as a liquor control commissioner. Prior to his trustee role, he chaired the South Elgin Economic Development Council (SEED).

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Richmond is a member of the Board of Directors at the St. Charles Bank and Trust, a Wintrust Community Bank. He is also deeply committed to community service, serving as a past Chairman and current Board Member for Food for Greater Elgin, a regional food pantry. From 2008 to 2016, he was the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Brett Armin Sarcoma Foundation, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors of Advocate Sherman Hospital.

Mr. Richmond holds a B.A. from Michigan State University (1990) and a J.D. with High Honors from the Chicago-Kent College of Law (1995).
