Bart Torvik

Bart Torvik is an accomplished lawyer with extensive expertise in personal injury and foodborne illness litigation. A graduate at the top of his class from the University of Minnesota Law School, Bart began his legal career clerking for Judge James M. Rosenbaum, the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. His experience expanded at a prominent Minnesota law office, where he managed all facets of litigation, from initial consultations to jury trials.

In 2010, Bart relocated to Evanston, Illinois, following his wife Laura's appointment as a Professor of Genetic Epidemiology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. In Evanston, he served as General Counsel for a local provider of innovative alternative energy solutions before founding his own practice, Torvik Law LLC, in 2011. At Torvik Law, he successfully advocated for hundreds of clients, safeguarding their rights in court.

Bart's collaboration with Brendan Flaherty and Ryan Osterholm led to the formation of OFT Food Safety & Injury Lawyers. This partnership was driven by a shared commitment to securing justice for individuals affected by foodborne illnesses, often caused by negligent food suppliers. Bart's dedication to food safety and client advocacy remains a cornerstone of his practice.

Licensed in Illinois, Bart maintains the firm's Illinois office in Evanston, just north of Chicago. He resides in Evanston with his wife Laura and their two daughters, cherishing family time at home.
