Melissa Fernandez (Marin)

Melissa Fernandez, based in Evanston, Illinois, is a devoted attorney specializing in household law. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Political Science at DePaul University in 2015. Continuing her academic journey, Melissa earned her law degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2019, graduating cum laude and consistently appearing on the Dean's List.

Melissa's passion for household law stems from her personal experiences as a child of divorced parents, providing her with a unique perspective on family dynamics. Her dedication to representing families going through similar situations is evident in her empathetic approach to counseling clients during challenging times.

During her time at DePaul, Melissa was actively engaged in the family law program. She received a Dean's scholarship for her exceptional undergraduate performance and was awarded the Schiller DuCanto & Fleck Family Law Center Scholarship, becoming a Family Law fellow. Her leadership skills were further demonstrated as Vice President of the Child and Family Law Association.

Melissa's academic excellence was recognized with two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for her top grades in Family Law litigation drafting and Legal Analysis Research and Communication. To enhance her advocacy skills, Melissa participated in DePaul's Appellate Moot Court team, showcasing her litigation passion and oral advocacy expertise.
