Megan C. Harris

Megan C. Harris has been a dedicated attorney at Mirabella, Kincaid, Frederick & Mirabella since July 2013, where she specializes in Family Law, including divorce, paternity, child custody, and child support. Her legal practice extends across DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will counties.

Before joining the firm, Ms. Harris served as an attorney and Guardian ad Litem at the Cook County Public Guardian’s Office, advocating for children in abuse and neglect cases. Her commitment to family law is further demonstrated through her role as a DuPage County Court-Appointed Guardian ad Litem. She has shared her expertise by presenting at the 2013 DuPage Guardian ad Litem training and the 2014 National Business Institute training on family law challenges.

Ms. Harris's professional affiliations include membership in the Illinois State Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association, and the DuPage Association of Women Lawyers. Her achievements have been recognized with her selection as a 2015 Super Lawyers Illinois Rising Star.

A graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law at Urbana-Champaign, Ms. Harris earned her J.D. magna cum laude in 2012 and was admitted to the Illinois Bar the same year. She also graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois in 2008. During law school, she was a Notes Editor for the Law Review, participated in the Family Advocacy Clinic, and clerked at a general practice law firm. Her academic excellence was marked by her recognition as a Harno Scholar, Dean’s List recipient, and CALI award winner in Environmental Law and Interviewing, Counseling, & Fact Investigation. Additionally, she was nominated for the Paul Lisnek Award for Excellence in Trial Advocacy. Her scholarly work includes an article on jail visitation policies affecting parents and infants, published in the University of Illinois Law Review in 2012.
