David Ferguson

David Ferguson has been a dedicated member of the law firm since 1981. His expertise spans across General Civil Litigation, Insurance Law focusing on defendant and coverage issues, Real Estate including commercial transactions, litigation, planning and zoning, and historic renovation. Additionally, he is well-versed in Business Litigation, School Law, and Employment Law.

David is a respected member of the American and Indiana State Bar Associations, the Monroe County Bar Association, the National School Boards Association, the Indiana Council of School Attorneys, and the Defendant Trial Counsel of Indiana. He is also a life member of the Fellows of the Indiana Bar Foundation.

His community involvement is extensive. David served for fifteen years on the Monroe County Parks Board, an appointment made by the mayor, and has been a board member for the Monroe County History Center and Bloomington Restorations, a not-for-profit focused on historic renovation in Monroe County. He recently concluded a 28-year tenure on the Monroe County Library Board, having been appointed by both the County Commissioners and the County Council. Currently, he is a member of the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce Board.

David's commitment extends to the Acacia Fraternity Foundation, a national education foundation, reflecting his family's long-standing association with the local Acacia chapter since its inception in 1920. The Chapter House honors the Ferguson family for their enduring contributions.

In 2020, David's family received the Hoosier Homestead Bicentennial Award from the State of Indiana, marking the 200th anniversary of their family farm in Lawrence County. In his personal time, David engages in historic renovations of downtown Bloomington buildings, fostering housing opportunities and enhancing the area's vibrancy. He remains a committed member and supporter of Downtown Bloomington.
