James Louis Fischer Jr

James Louis Fischer Jr. is a partner with the Indiana office of Boehl Stopher & Graves, LLP, bringing extensive expertise in civil insurance defense litigation. His practice areas include premises liability, auto and truck accidents, fires, and construction accidents. James is licensed to practice law in both Indiana and Kentucky.

James received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University Southeast, where he was honored as the Outstanding Student in Political Science for the academic year 1985-86. He went on to earn his law degree from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1989, supported by a law scholarship.

From 1990 to 1998, James served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for Clark County, Indiana, where he handled major felony cases, including several murder trials. His legal acumen and dedication to justice are well-recognized.

James is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, and Floyd County, Indiana bar associations, the American Bar Association, Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, Kentucky Defense Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, and the Sherman Minton Chapter of the American Inns of Court. He has earned a BV Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

In addition to his legal practice, James has contributed to the legal community as a presenter at trial tactics seminars for the National Business Institute. He resides in Jeffersonville with his wife, Robin, and they have two grown children.
