About David Wendlinger
David M. Wendlinger grew up in Schererville and completed his education at Lake Central High School in 1994. He earned a B.B.A. in International Business Management from Northwood University in 1999. David pursued his legal education at Valparaiso University School of Law, graduating in 2002. During law school, he participated in the Mediation Clinic, assisting in resolving small claims through mediation.
David was admitted to the Illinois State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 2002, later joining the Indiana State Bar in 2009. Initially, he served as In-House Counsel for LaSalle Bank and Chicago Title.
In 2009, David transitioned to the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office as a Deputy Prosecutor. He gained significant experience handling a wide range of criminal cases, from traffic violations to serious offenses such as gun charges, theft, battery, OWI/DUIs, and murder.
Since 2011, David has been part of R. Cordell Funk, LLC, focusing on Criminal Defense and Family Law. His criminal defense practice includes OWI/DUI, felonies and misdemeanors, traffic cases, license suspensions, and juvenile delinquencies. In family law, he manages cases involving divorce, child custody and visitation, support modification, paternity, and adoption.
