David Karnes, originally from Norfolk, Virginia, completed his early education at Tabernacle Baptist School in Virginia Beach. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pre-law from Bob Jones University in 1996 and graduated magna cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis in 2001. During his time in law school, he served as a Note Development Editor for the Indiana Law Review and participated in the National Moot Court Competition.
Mr. Karnes has completed 40 hours of civil mediation training and was honored with the Francis J. Feeney, Jr. Tax award. His professional affiliations include the Muncie Bar Association, the Indiana Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Residing in Selma, Indiana, David and his wife, Tara, have four children: Brayden, Brandt, Bracken, and Bryce.
Highly engaged in the Muncie community, Mr. Karnes serves on the Lifestream Services Board of Directors and is Vice Chair of the First Choice for Women Board. He is also involved in governance committees for the United Way of Delaware County and the Soup Kitchen of Muncie. David is passionate about coaching soccer for Burris and enjoys watching his sons play basketball and soccer. A long-time member of Grace Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana, he has served as both deacon and deacon chairman during his over 20-year membership.
