David M Seiter

David M Seiter has been practicing law across Indiana since 1998, specializing in both criminal and civil law. With over 14 years in private practice, he built a successful career before serving as a judicial officer in Marion County, Indiana, for 3.5 years. During his tenure as a judicial officer, he worked at the Arrestee Processing Center and major felony drug court, focusing on problem-solving and reducing recidivism through offender education.

Returning to private practice in October 2016, David integrates his judicial insights to effectively assess the strengths and weaknesses of his clients' cases. He possesses significant experience in major felony trial and appellate advocacy, having argued three times before the Indiana Supreme Court. His contributions have influenced Indiana law, particularly in cases involving Operating a Car while Intoxicated and Habitual Traffic Violator offenses.

In addition to his legal career, David retired as a field grade officer in the U.S. Army Reserves in 2013 after 25 years of service. Enlisting as a private in 1988, he was later commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Military Police through ROTC and completed the U.S. Army’s Airborne school. He commanded the 384th MP HHC in Fort Wayne, IN, before transitioning to the Judge Advocates General (JAG) Corps in 2000, where he continued his military career as a lawyer.

In 2003, David deployed to Iraq as a JAG officer with the 800th Military Police Battalion in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During this deployment, he was awarded the Bronze Star for his contributions, including his role as the “ombudsman” for juvenile and female detainees within the Coalition Provisional Authority in the Iraqi Ministry of Justice.
