Joshua Strief

Joshua Strief, a native of Iowa, grew up on a farm near Sac City. He pursued his education at Drake University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with honors. In 2014, he graduated with honors from Drake University Law School with a Juris Doctorate. That same year, Joshua was admitted to the Iowa State Bar and the United States District Court for both the Southern and Northern Federal Districts of Iowa.

Joshua plays a significant role in the Iowa Defendant Counsel Association, serving on both the Board of Governors and the Corporate Update Board of Editors. His contributions were recognized with the Rising Star Award in 2018, followed by the prestigious Edward F. Seitzinger Award in 2023. Joshua's practice encompasses a broad spectrum of insurance cases, including those involving general commercial liability and dram shop insurers.

A member of the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission, Joshua addresses ethical complaints against attorneys. He is actively involved with the Iowa State Bar Association, contributing to the Iowa Jury Instructions Committee. His affiliations extend to the Defense Research Institute, Polk County Bar Association, and the National Association of Fire Investigators. Joshua's excellence in the legal field has earned him repeated recognition on Thomson Reuters' Super Lawyers Rising Star list, highlighting the top 2.5% of attorneys in the state.

Beyond his professional commitments, Joshua is dedicated to community service. He serves on the Board of Directors for LifeServe Blood Center and holds a leadership position with the Drake Law School Recent Alumni Engagement Board. In his personal time, Joshua enjoys family life with his wife and two sons.
