About Jennifer Meyer
Jennifer Meyer was born in Primghar, Iowa, and completed her high school education at South O'Brien High School. She pursued her undergraduate studies at the University of Northern Iowa, graduating with honors in 1999 with a major in Finance and minors in Business Communications and Coaching. While at UNI, Jennifer was a full scholarship basketball player and interned with the Black Hawk County Legal Counsel's office in the Witness and Victim's Assistance Division.
After completing her undergraduate degree, Jennifer earned her Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School and was admitted to the Iowa Bar in 2002. During law school, she clerked at the Peterson Law office, focusing on workers' compensation and personal injury, and completed internships at the Polk County Lawyer's Office and Jasper County Legal professional's office. In 2000, she was selected for a prestigious Judge Advocate General (JAG) internship with the United States Army at Fort Stewart, Georgia, and received a commission offer upon graduation.
Jennifer began her legal career at Grimes, Buck, Schoell, Beach and Hitchens in Marshalltown, Iowa, practicing in family law, criminal law, juvenile law, estate planning, civil litigation, and tax. After three years, she co-founded Bennett, Steffens, & Grife, PC, which was later renamed Steffens & Grife, PC. In 2010, she established her own firm, initially named Steffens Law Office, PC, and later renamed Jennifer Meyer Law, PC after her marriage to Mark Meyer in 2011. Jennifer and her business partner, Joanie Grife, share an office in Marshalltown, Iowa, at 25 N. Center Street.
In 2014, Jennifer expanded her practice by opening a branch office in Ankeny, Iowa, located at 121 NE 18th Street, Suite B. She continues to serve clients with dedication and expertise in her chosen practice areas.
